Bernard Harris
The SPACE Agency
is the official representative for astronaut and
speaker Dr. Bernard Harris. The first African-American to walk in
space, Bernard Harris was
selected for NASA astronaut training in January of 1990. Harris flew
as a Mission Specialist on STS-55 and as Payload Commander on STS-63.
It was during this flight that Harris performed his history-making

In addition to speaking worldwide, Harris is also the founder of The
Harris Foundation, which is powered through two different programs -
Dare to Dream and the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp.
Through these initiatives, The Harris Foundation encourages math and Science
education, motivates kids to stay in school, fosters youth leadership and
citizenship, as well as instilling the values of responsibility, fairness
and respect. To date, more than 2,500 K-12 students have participated.

Ventures, a unique venture capital vehicle solely dedicated to funding
the development of new technologies in order to advance the world of
telemedicine. Harris brings 37 years of
total experience in research, management and hardware/product development to
the company. Past experience includes Vice President of SPACEHAB,
Inc., marketing the company’s space-based products and services and
Vice President of Business Development for Space Media, Inc., establishing
an international space education program for students. In addition, Harris
is a member of the board of some of the leading technology companies in the
world.
